Please note the following tips:
To approach a question either write the formula of desired quantity and then put the values
directly or indirectly from given values in question
write the main equation of that *topic* so that you can know which quantities can be deduced
from the *given* values and *main equation*
Fo example in questions of photo electric effect you can always *start* the question by writing
*main equation* and then putting given values and checking what you can find by putting
those values.
Main equation in above case the Einstein's equation of photo electric effect.
The photo electric effect equation of k.e max can be written in various form....
Like if frequency is given then in terms of frequency.
If wavelength is given then in terms of wavelength.
If cut off wavelength is given then *work function* can by replaced by *hc upon lambda not*
If cut off frequency is given then work function can be replaced by *h nue not*
Attempt the motion related and force related questions. By drawing diagram.
Hint- to cross a pole a train need to travel a distance equal to its length... Because pole is said
to be crossed only when the guard's wagon crosses the pole.
You all are encouraged to attempt as many questions as possible based on topics taught in
class, Unsolved one can be discussed in class with teacher.
Practice well.. Always try to compare questions with those *done in class* so that solution can
be obtained.
Test is meant to judge your understanding and analytical ability and to make you all aware
about where to take cautions and where to use common sense.
So feel light while attempting it.
Better understanding of concepts through numerical solving is required.

Monoatomic gas has only 3 translational dof. Diatomic rigid gas molecule has 3 translational dof
+ 2 rotational dof = 5 dof. Diatomic non-rigid molecule has 3 translational + 2 rotational + 1
vibrational dof = 6 dof. Polyatomic linear molecules have 3 trans + 2 rot + f number of
vibrational = (5+f) dof
Practice each questions 2-3 times until you become used to Or comfortable with the process...

It has been noticed that some students lack in problem solving just because they don't attempt the questions on their own.
All are advised to atleast attempt the questions twice as per method taught in class..
It is just like putting value from question to formula.
To understand which formula is to be employed just remember the standard type of questions asked for each formula you learn.
Do it topic by topic and chapter by chapter.
" Repeat the example taught by your teacher atleast 2-3 times untill you become comfortable and confident with that method only then attempt new questions. "
