When a person accepts his/her accountability, he/she then perform the works with greater concern and endevour for desired accuracy/ result, while when someone knows that he/she may not be held accountable for the outcomes of the deeds performed by him/her then one may become casual in ones approach while performing the deed, which in turn may lead to lower accuracy or undesired outcomes.
